Programme Coordinator, Lucknow

Sarthak Foundation started with the belief that no child should be left behind for being born in economic and social disadvantage. With a vision to have Happy Empowered Children, Sarthak Foundation reaches out to children to make them self-sustainable through education, socio-emotional strengthening and skills so that they are able to break out of abject poverty. We reach out to more than 8100 beneficiaries, the majority of whom are girls, who are the most vulnerable to dropping out of education. Sarthak runs three key projects: Sarthak

Yellow Rooms, Sarthak Gurukul, and Sarthak Yellow SLATEs. Sarthak Foundation is a registered non-profit working in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Primary Aim

To efficiently manage and enhance Yellow Rooms' operations, ensure quality education delivery, foster a safe, engaging, and value-driven learning environment, and strengthen relationships with communities and schools.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain attendance of children in Yellow Rooms.

2. Support Educators in the Quality delivery of Lesson plans by utilising teaching materials and digital resources.

3. Conduct counseling sessions for children and parents.

4. Maintain Inventory, files and resources available at Yellow Rooms.

5. Facilitate external visits of children.

6. Conduct maintenance checks and address infrastructure needs.

7. Organize parent-teacher meetings and strengthen community relationships.

8. Attend school meetings with parents to support student inclusion.

9. Maintain a database related to Yellow Rooms.

10. Prepare regular progress reports of allotted Yellow Rooms.

Qualification

1. MSW or a related field and 2–7 years of experience working with children and adults.

2. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, empathy, and the ability to work with children from challenging backgrounds.

3. Proficient in using laptops, tablets, office suite applications, and project management software.

4. Comfortable with regular long-distance travel; a personal vehicle is mandatory.

Location

This position is based in Lucknow in the allotted Yellow Rooms community.

About Company

Sarthak Foundation started in 2013 when an incident involving little children living in a Lucknow urban slum exposed Kshama, the Founder of Sarthak, to extreme hunger and abject poverty, somethings that are so pervasive and rampant that they have become part of the landscape and we don’t notice them even when they are right in front of us. She thought that imparting education was the only tool capable of bringing sustained changes in the lives of these children so she went with a slate and started teaching the children. What started with 6 children under a tree is today an organized, data centric and well managed non-profit running three long term, deep, immersive and impactful projects impacting more than 8000 children directly and 32,000 people indirectly.
