Job Profile

Legal officer of Prayas Juvenile Aid Centre (JAC) Society, Delhi is expected to perform the following functions:

Team capacity building on child rights

Advocacy with state-level/district-level legal stakeholders related to children

Legal advice to the support persons/district program in- charge

Prepare & maintain legal documents, records & case files of all ongoing cases

Assistance in case filing

Strategic litigation

Document inspection by filing RTIs

S/he shall coordinate the entire internal legal team and external concerned advocates at central office.

S/he shall appear before the Delhi High Court/ Supreme Court of India/ District Courts of Delhi and shall assist and appear in matters before the courts in coordination with the concerned advocates.

S/he shall prepare synopsis of the proceedings of litigation and shall update the case file with orders according to the court appearance dates.

S/he shall draft petition, written statements, rejoinders, affidavits, writs and public interest litigations filed by the organization in coordination with the concerned external advocates

Additional Requirements

Commitment to working on child protection and juvenile justice issues.

Willingness to travel within Delhi and other locations as required for case follow-ups or coordination.

Proficiency in English and Hindi, both written and spoken.

Remuneration

Consolidated remuneration of Rs. 45,000/- (Rupees Forty Five Thousands only) per month (negotiable)
