Position: Civil Engineer full time
Sabuj Sangha is a non-government development organization committed to improving the lives of less fortunate people in West Bengal through participation and empowerment. Established in 1975, the organization is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961. Our operational area encompasses the Sundarbans and North Bengal regions of West Bengal, India.

Operational Area: West Bengal
Essential Qualification and Experience:
• Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institute.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work preferably in rural development projects.
• Experience in Natural Resource Management and NGO is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, and executing civil works, including water supply, sanitation, housing, and other infrastructure.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and design software such as AutoCAD and etc
• Good communication and presentation skills in English and Bengali.
Other Specifications:
• Strong understanding of sustainable development and infrastructure planning.
• Experience in managing multiple construction projects in a time-bound manner.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-stakeholder teams, including government agencies, contractors, and community members.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Ability to travel extensively across project locations.
Job Description:
• Plan, design, and execute infrastructure projects aligned with organizational goals and project requirements.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for civil works.
• Ensure the quality of construction and compliance with safety standards.
• Supervise contractors and site teams to ensure timely project completion.
• Prepare project reports, budgets, and progress updates for donors and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with programme teams to integrate infrastructure development into broader rural development goals.
• Provide technical guidance and training to field staff and community members.
• Develop and review tender documents and support procurement processes.
• Engage with government officials and other stakeholders for project approvals and collaboration.
• Any other responsibilities as assigned by the organization.
Remuneration: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
