Motivation India is a public charitable trust established in 2011 as a disability-focused non-profit (NGO), a part of Motivation, a global organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities across India.
Motivation transforms the lives of persons with disability around the world. From designing a unique range of wheelchairs, to influencing international governments and NGOs, we’ve been making an impact for nearly 30 years. Motivation India was established in 2011 as a charitable trust in India to spearhead its work in India and South Asia. We have a rich history spanning over two decades of work in the region. Motivation India has positively impacted the lives of more than 26,000 persons with disabilities by providing them with appropriate and customised wheelchairs. Motivation India works with partner NGOs and government bodies across India to promote the concept of appropriate wheelchair services.
Job Purpose:
To direct all aspects of Motivation India’s fundraising and communications strategy, ensuring sufficient resources to achieve our ambitious goals around creating systemic change for disabled people.
The Head of Fundraising & Communications has overall responsibility for generating strong, consistent and sustainable levels of funding from a portfolio of donors as well as proactively raising the profile of the organisation, protecting its brand and reputation, while managing communications across a variety of platforms, including traditional media, digital and publications.
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic person with a track record of securing sustainable income from a range of sources, especially high net worth individuals and corporates. Key Responsibilities
Fundraising
Design and execute a data- driven fundraising strategy to make Motivation India financially sustainable.
Research and cultivate a diversified funding base from among Trusts/Foundations, CSRs, Government and HNIs.
Build and deepen relationships with current and prospective donors and keep them apprised of the work of the organisation.
Build network to identify and create opportunities.
Develop innovative funding propositions and write concept notes, proposals, budgets, and reports.
Work closely with the programme team to design and develop project ideas and proposals in response to specific calls for funding.
Work with the UK Fundraising & Communications team for the implementation of Motivation’s global income generation strategy.
Prepare and manage an annual fundraising calendar, and budgets for fundraising events and campaigns.
Ensure reporting requirements for all grants and donors are met while keeping track of the project deliverables.
Communications
Lead Motivation’s communications strategy, including oversight and integration of Motivation’s brand identity into written and electronic (email, web, social media) communications.
Drive frequent communications and outreach to stakeholders on Motivation ‘s activities, priorities, and developments.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to develop brochures, marketing strategy and pitch material, newsletters, annual reports, and various dashboards reports for institutional fundraising.
Produce fundraising reports/presentations for board meetings and the Regional Director
Actively manage and document donor, sponsor, and institutional funder relationships, actions, and notes to assure accurate, timely, and consistent donor engagement and communications.
Person specification: Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
Graduate from a reputed University. MBA from a premier university a plus
Must have proven track record of successful applications for substantial funding from Donors/ Trusts / CSRs/ philanthropists nationally or internationally.
Excellent communication, influencing, negotiating, strategic planning, proposal writing and presentation skills.
Possess a strong network of leads and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with Donors/ Sponsors
Outstanding collaboration skills, working across a diverse organisation.
Sound organisational and people management skills
Successful track record in income generation and building and growing successful and sustainable income streams
Fluent in spoken and written English and at least one Indian language
Desirable
Knowledge of disability and/or Assistive Technology sector
Experience of working with a global team
Existing relationships with key media partners
