Name of the Assignment: Production of a Video Showcasing ChildFund India's Educational Initiatives

1.About ChildFund:

ChildFund India, a child development organization registered in India in 1984, has been working with children, youth and families from the most remote, extremely backward and hard-to-reach areas, with a vision to build “an India where children lead a dignified life and achieve their full potential”.

ChildFund India works in the rural belts of the country, now slowly expanding its focus to urban locations too, where child protection issues and violence against children are prevalent.

Its programs provide comprehensive support to children from their conception until they reach 24 years of age by integrating health, nutrition, sanitation, gender equality, education, skill training, livelihoods, child protection and humanitarian relief work.

ChildFund India annually reaches 3.1 million children, youth, and their families across the country, through its programs. ChildFund India’s unparalleled longstanding community presence in India, long-term partnership with grassroots organizations and relations with relevant stakeholders especially the Government to ensure that its holistic interventions foster an enabling environment where children can grow to their fullest potential.          

2.Background of the Assignment:

ChildFund India is dedicated to transforming the lives of children through innovative education programs. To illustrate the impact of these interventions, we intend to produce a high-quality video that captures the journey of a child in Raichur, Karnataka, who transitions from educational deprivation to mainstreaming through ChildFund India’s initiatives.

The video will highlight the child’s engagement with community centers, participation in the PENCIL Center, and eventual integration into formal schooling where she experiences STEM labs, smart classrooms, and STEM libraries set up by ChildFund India. This story will showcase the organization’s holistic approach to education and its impact.

Objectives

The purpose of the video is to:

To communicate a compelling story that highlights the challenges and transformations in the child’s educational journey.

To showcase ChildFund India's initiatives like the PENCIL program, STEM labs, smart classrooms, and libraries.

3.Scope of Work:

The agency will be responsible for the following tasks:

i.Pre-Production

The agency will start by working closely with ChildFund India to create a meaningful concept and storyline that highlights the child’s journey from being out of school to becoming an active learner through ChildFund India’s support. This phase will include finalizing the narrative, scripting, and key message

s. The agency will visit Raichur, Karnataka, to scout locations such as the child’s home, the PENCIL Center, and schools with STEM labs and smart classrooms. They will also meet with the child, her family, teachers, and community members to ensure their stories are represented authentically. A detailed shoot plan and timeline will be developed to ensure smooth execution.

ii.Production

The agency will film the child’s daily life and her interactions at the community center, PENCIL Center, and school to capture her transformation. This will include personal moments at home, her learning experiences, and interviews with her, her parents, teachers, and community members. The goal is to create a heartfelt and inspiring story. The agency will use professional equipment to ensure high-quality visuals and sound, while also capturing the beauty of the Raichur region through creative shots.

iii.Post-Production

Once filming is complete, the agency will edit the footage to create a compelling and engaging video. They will produce two versions: a longer 3-minute video and a shorter 1-minute version for social media. The videos will include a warm and relatable voiceover, appropriate music to set the tone, and subtitles to make the content accessible to everyone. Graphics and animations may be used to highlight key points, while making sure the videos align with ChildFund India’s branding and messaging. Feedback from ChildFund India will be incorporated into the final versions.

iv.Final Deliverables

The agency will deliver two polished videos: a detailed 3-minute version and a concise 1-minute version for social media. In addition, all raw footage from the shoot will be handed over to ChildFund India for future use. The videos will be provided in formats suitable for both online sharing and offline presentations, ensuring they can be used across various platforms to reach different audiences.

The agency is expected to produce high-quality outputs that effectively showcase the journey of the child and the impact of ChildFund India’s educational interventions. The deliverables should be visually engaging, emotionally compelling, and suitable for diverse platforms, ensuring maximum outreach. Below are the specific deliverables:

Detailed Video (3 minutes): A comprehensive video capturing the child’s journey, highlighting her transformation through ChildFund India’s interventions.

Short Video (1 minute): A crisp version of the video designed for social media platforms, focusing on key moments to maximize engagement.

Output Quality: Both videos should be delivered in 4K quality, in MP4 format, ensuring the highest visual and audio standards.

B-Roll Footage: Capture and provide additional raw footage (B-roll), showcasing various activities and interventions. This footage will be useful for future promotional materials or social media posts.

High-Quality Candid Photos: Deliver 20 high-quality candid photographs covering each intervention, capturing the essence of the child’s journey, community engagement, and educational settings.

Original and Dubbed Versions: The original video will be shot in Kannada and then dubbed into Hindi and English to ensure it reaches diverse audiences. Further, English subtitles must be included in all versions (Kannada, Hindi, and English) for accessibility and wider reach.

4.Timeline:

The assignment must be completed within 8 weeks. The details are given below

Pre-production (concept, scripting, and planning)- Maximum 2 weeks

Production (filming in Raichur)- Approx 2 weeks

Post-production (editing, voiceover, and finalization)- 3 weeks

Submission of deliverables and revisions (if required)- 1 weeks

5.Qualifications:

The agency should:

The agency should have 8-10 years of experience in producing high-quality social impact videos, preferably for NGOs or educational initiatives.

Demonstrate expertise in storytelling, cinematography, and editing.

6.Ownership and Confidentiality

Azl footage and deliverables will be the property of ChildFund India. The agency must maintain confidentiality and refrain from using the material for any other purpose without prior approval.

7.Adherence to Safeguarding Policy

ChildFund India has a zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) and all other forms of harm by its staff, partners, and other representatives in the delivery of its mission and services for children.

8.Submission Requirements

Agencies should submit:

A detailed proposal with a creative approach and work plan.

Links to previous work or videos.

A financial proposal, including a cost breakdown.

Profiles of key team members.
