Position: MIS & IT Manager - India Labour Line (part time)

Location: Bangalore

Aajeevika Bureau seeks to recruit an experienced and committed colleague to join the India Labourline (ILL) team as MIS & IT Manager. The India Labourline is a phone and field based programme to provide information, counselling, distress support and legal aid to informal workers throughout India.

It is also a powerful Grievance Redressal Forum to address labour rights violations faced by all categories of waged and self-employed workers in the construction, factories, urban services, Garments & Textiles, farm work, street vending, and other sectors.

ILL helps thousands of workers resolve their wage disputes and ensures that they do not lose their rightful earnings to fraud and theft. Roles and Responsibilities

The MIS & IT Manager will be responsible for the overall management of data and technology infrastructure for the India Labour Line Helpline. The position includes the following functions:

Overall management and troubleshooting of the CRM and cloud telephony systems.

Design, execution, and monitoring of the MIS platform for India Labour Line.

Collation, compilation, and analysis of data and reports related to India Labour Line calls and response traffic.

Implementation of new features, functionalities, and tools in the MIS/IT platform to enhance processes.

Effectively design, maintain, and track the MIS developed on PHP, JavaScript.

Identify and fix PHP development problems.

Ensuring digital security and protection of collected data.

Training end users on the application.

Traveling to field locations to understand user issues, assess refresher training needs, and identify improvements for the application.

Providing technical assistance to end users in addressing issues and challenges faced with the MIS.

Coordinating with developers to resolve issues.

Conducting post-release and post-implementation testing, and reporting any bugs or errors to development teams.

Providing basic IT hardware support, including procurement, installation, and troubleshooting.

Training and supporting field teams in setting up, using, and maintaining the technology platform, as well as updating data.

Desired Skills & Experience

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in software programming and MIS development.

Understanding of PHP web frameworks like Laravel and CodeIgniter.

Knowledge of PHP object-oriented programming.

Familiarity with front-end technologies, including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3.

Experience of developing Progressive Web App (PWA) mobile applications.

Familiarity with SQL/ NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages

Competent with Git, Mercurial, CVS, and SVN, among other code versioning systems including CICD pipelines.

Understanding of MVC design patterns

Understanding of SDLC and unit testing.

Proficiency in using and analyzing data, with the ability to collate information for decision-making by Labour Line teams.

Ability to provide remote tech support. 

The remuneration for this part time position (60% or 3 days a week) will range from Rs. 45,000 to 55,000 per month. We are a gender-just, equal-opportunity employer committed to fostering diversity within our teams.
