About BTS:

Baikunthapur Tarun Sangha (BTS) is a community-based organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the country’s remote villages and environmentally critical Sunderban region, recognized by UNESCO as both a Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site.

Baikunthapur Tarun Sangha (BTS) is a 43-year-old community based non-profit organization, presently working in 11 blocks and 68 villages across North Bengal (New Alipurduar) and South 24 Parganas District, West Bengal.

The organization focuses on climate adaptation Livelihoods (agriculture & fishery), education, Health, Natural resource Management, Climate Action and rural development to improve the lives of vulnerable communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of project activities, data keeping, outcomes, and impact documentation.

• Prepare detailed reports, case studies, and success stories for various stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, community members, and partner organizations, ensuring clarity and impact in communication.

• Ensure compliance with donor and organizational reporting requirements.

• Good and quality photo, small video clippings for project documentation and reporting.

• Maintain social media handle like website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.

• Maintain filing and office keeping as per requirement of the projects.

• Capacity to design and develop booklet’s, brochures, annual reports, poster and flyers, pamphlets and leaflets, webpage, social media content.

• Advanced computer knowledge Photoshop, Corel draw, DTP and Video Editing.

Communication & Knowledge Management:

• Develop newsletters, articles, and communication materials highlighting project progress, ensuring timely dissemination of information to stakeholders, donors, and the public. Specify key achievements, challenges, and future directions in engaging formats for different audiences.

• Manage and update digital and print documentation.

• Support the team in content creation for presentations, proposals, and training materials.

Monitoring & Evaluation Support:

• Assist in collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data to assess project impact and effectiveness. This includes conducting field surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions, as well as compiling and interpreting data for decision-making, reporting, and improving project strategies.

• Coordinate with field teams to gather qualitative and quantitative information.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or any relevant discipline. Experience in digital media or visual storytelling is preferred.

• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in documentation, reporting, and communication roles within NGOs or civil society organizations.

• Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, proficiency in MS Office, ability to design basic communication materials.
