Mission Samriddhi is a Design Thinking-led Social Impact Platform focused on holistic and sustainable rural development in the areas of Education, Health and Livelihood through the empowerment of Gram Panchayats. For a truly robust economy, we are focussing on our villages, building their capabilities and exploring opportunities for sustainable development.
Job Overview
Mission Samriddhi started working with Gram Panchayats across India in 2016, to aid them in improving their Social Development, Economic Development, and Ecological Sustainability, as well as improving the Personal Development parameters of their members, and developing their Institutional capability as a Gram Panchayat. As you can imagine, this is not an easy task that we had taken on. To assist us we partnered with other social organizations, who have worked with us across the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Odisha and Punjab.
We are now looking to take our efforts to the next level, give a fillip to our outreach, through the induction of Young Fellows, in the areas of Education, Health and Livelihoods, You would work directly with Program Consultants who head each of these areas, assist in implementation of the programs, as well as help setup robust monitoring and evaluation protocols. You would need to be based in Chennai, and would have to undertake a reasonable amount of travel to the target areas.
Responsibilities:
1.Appropriate attitude to mix, develop rapport and work with Elected Representatives (ER) and functionaries of Gram Panchayats (GP) and rural communities in remote rural areas and strong commitment to work on mission mode for rural development.
2.Passion and keenness to travel to remote rural areas and to undertake extensive studies and interactions within a designated Cluster of GPs.
3.Understand and imbibe the ethos and culture of Mission Samriddhi, and mould your attitude while interacting with the members of Gram Panchayats and villagers in the areas that we work.
4.Support implementation and Monitoring of our Cluster Development Framework (CDF) in the GPs, as well as support in organizing events (Cleanliness, Water Conservations, Health awareness, Poshan Abhiyan, Girl Child Day etc) and knowledge sessions
5.Work towards activating the various Gram Panchayats' committees (Water, Health, Education, Natural resources, Nutrition, Matru-mandal, Self-help groups etc) and support them to monitor sectoral progress, identify challenges and provide solutions
6. Provide handholding support to the designated GPs in organizing effective Gram Sabhas, collection of Primary and Secondary data including GIS-based data, situation analysis and preparation of Development Status Report by each of the GPs.
7. To coordinate with block administration and local line department offices pertaining to those GPs and obtain their support in effective implementation of the planned activities for Sustainable Development through GPDP.
8. To prepare and submit progress report to the Program Consultant and all others concerned as per requirement of the programme.
Requirements:
Graduate in Economics, Rural Development, Rural Management, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, Development Studies or similar disciplines
Proficiency in writing and speaking English and Hindi. Knowledge of other languages would be an added advantage.
Passion for social development, and empathy in dealing with people.
Meticulous attention to detail, and being comfortable with operations of computers.
