Through our three interventions - Yellow Rooms, Yellow SLATEs and Sarthak Gurukul - we work with some of the most marginalised children in U.P.

Key Responsibilities: This role involves managing the existing donor relationships and cultivating new ones. A typical work week for you may entail some of the following activities:

• Writing a grant application for a project on improving the self-advocacy skills of young girls

• Attending a reporting and strategy meeting with the head of the department and the president of the foundation

• Visiting a Yellow Rooms to collect photographs and video interviews for a social media promo video

• Calling existing high-net-worth individual donors to set video calls with children

• Writing a funder progress report

• Brainstorm with the graphics designer about the layout of the the monthly activity report

• Interviewing a Yellow Rooms child to write a story about her for our Facebook page

• Meeting the CSR head of a large company and making a presentation about our work

You are the ideal candidate if:

• The idea that your work helps make things better excites you

• You exude maturity and calmness and have 4 to 12 years of experience. Although not a mandatory requirement for this role, experience in fundraising, communication, business development, writing or social media will be an advantage.

• You have excellent spoken and written English and Hindi

• You are confident and like interacting with people

• You are a team player and enjoy working in a collegial and collaborative work environment

• You either live in Lucknow or belong from somewhere nearby and can relocate to Lucknow quickly.

Salary Range: INR 25,000 - 40,000

About Company

Sarthak Foundation started in 2013 when an incident involving little children living in a Lucknow urban slum exposed Kshama, the Founder of Sarthak, to extreme hunger and abject poverty, somethings that are so pervasive and rampant that they have become part of the landscape and we don’t notice them even when they are right in front of us. She thought that imparting education was the only tool capable of bringing sustained changes in the lives of these children so she went with a slate and started teaching the children. What started with 6 children under a tree is today an organized, data centric and well managed non-profit running three long term, deep, immersive and impactful projects impacting more than 8000 children directly and 32,000 people indirectly.
