About the program:
In India, Tuberculosis (TB) disease and outcomes is strongly correlated with individual nutritional status and factors responsible for development of Cachexia in person with TB is ill-defined. A Longitudinal assessment to determine burden of cachexia in TB patients and its associated factors in two Indian States of Chhattisgarh and Mizoram is being implemented under assistance of Grand Challenges India (GCI), Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) by CHRI in partnership with Zoram Medical College – Mizoram and State Health Resource Centre (SHRC) – Chhattisgarh, in order to leverage human-centered design to document possible corrective measures to prevent and treat cachexia.
CHRI under this project will support the implementation in Mizoram state, under the guidance of Zoram Medial College – Mizoram.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Project Implementation: To work under the guidance of project scientist III and project coordinator II in ZMC-Mizoram to implement project activities in identified district.
• Stakeholder engagement: Liaison with District TB officer and establish strong relationship with National TB Elimination programme staff at district/sub-district level, community health officer and other relevant stakeholders.
• Meetings: Participate in virtual meetings to share project update and review progress.
• Project Design: To support in field testing project questionnaire and share feedback.
• Monitoring & Evaluation: Collect data of project activities for further analysis and document field observations.
• Training: To help orienting district/sub-district stakeholders on project activities.
• Additional Activities: Perform any other activities necessary under the project.
Required skills & experience
• Essential educational qualification & Experience
1. Graduate or above - Master of Social Work preferred
2. 2-3 years of experience in field implementation of different projects.
3. Familiarity with national Tuberculosis programme is preferable.
• Skills
1. Effective communication skills.
2. Fluency in English, Hindi and local Mizo language is essential.
