Summary:

The Senior Manager – CEO’s Office plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, managing partnerships, and overseeing the execution of key projects. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role requires a proactive, organized, and strategic leader who can handle multiple priorities, liaise effectively with external and internal stakeholders, and ensure seamless execution of high-impact initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Management:

Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key internal & external stakeholders, including government agencies and foundations.

Represent the CEO’s office in meetings, ensuring effective communication and follow-ups.

Prepare strategic briefs, talking points, and presentations for the CEO’s engagements to ensure alignment between initiatives and execution.

Project Management & Execution:

Develop project roadmaps, define key milestones, and ensure projects align with organizational priorities.

Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective measures as needed.

Lead and support new strategic projects until dedicated teams are in place, ensuring smooth handovers.

CEO Support & Decision-Making Enablement:

Act as a thought partner to the CEO, providing insights, research, and analysis on key initiatives

Draft reports, proposals, policy briefs, and communication materials to support decision-making.

Manage the CEO’s active calendar, daily administrative duties, and critical action items to optimize efficiency.

Analyze data and derive insights from datasets to support decision-making and drive project success

Internal Coordination & Organizational Efficiency:

Collaborate with internal teams (fundraising, MEL, programs, communications, finance) to drive cross-functional projects and enhance organizational workflows.

Lead the preparation of strategy meetings, board meetings, and leadership discussions, ensuring well-structured agendas and actionable outcomes.

Track and follow up on the CEO’s key priorities, ensuring timely execution of critical initiatives.

Plan and coordinate internal communication meetings and key organizational events.

Required Qualification and Experience

Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field.

Experience: 8-12 years in a program/leadership role, preferably in the nonprofit, social impact, consulting, or corporate sector.

Skills:

Strong project management and team-building experience.

Proven ability to set up and transition projects to long-term teams.

Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to work independently and drive execution in a fast-paced environment

Ability to analyze data and provide insights

Competencies:

Must have:

Strategic thinking: Ability to understand and align with the program's long-term goals and capable of formulating and communicating a strategic vision for the future.

Decision making: Ability to demonstrate good judgment and the ability to make sound, timely decisions, particularly under pressure.

Change Management: Demonstrate the ability to adapt to change, manage uncertainty, or shift course when needed.

Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders, from team members to executives

Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software, CRM systems, and communication tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom)

Resilience: Handling high-pressure situations, setbacks, and criticism. Staying calm and composed during crises

Working Together: Ability to inspire, motivate, and work with other stakeholders. Look for emotional intelligence, empathy, and the ability to facilitate positive interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.

Good to have:

Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of budgeting and financial reporting to assist in organizational planning.

THE GAP: 1 in every 50 that is over 28 million Indians have Intellectual Disability (ID). Despite this colossal number, they are stigmatised, considered less deserving and are unable to access the resources that they need to achieve their full potential. Even within the disabilities space, ID seems to be the most invisible and continues to be excluded from India’s mainstream development narrative, experiencing widespread violations of their rights.

WHO ARE WE ?

We are one of the oldest & largest not-for-profit institutes in India serving children & adults with ID. We are committed to looking at each child with a belief in their potential to lead fuller and more inclusive lives. Our approach is holistic; we aim to integrate our students into mainstream society by providing them with Healthcare, Education & Skill Development. Annually, we serve 750 individuals with ID at our campus in Mumbai, Deolali & Talegaon.

Over 70% of our students come from the lower socioeconomic strata.

We have no minimum IQ requirement and till date no one has been turned away for their inability to afford our services.

OUR VISION Inclusion of all individuals with Intellectual Disability (ID).

HEALTHCARE - We provide holistic, need-based medical & therapeutic intervention to children & adults with ID.

PAEDIATRIC NEUROLOGY MEDICAL CAMPS - We provide free diagnosis & medical care in rural Maharashtra to children with neurological issues. 

EDUCATION - We provide education through 4 schools for ages 3-18 years, to address each individual’s unique needs. The aim is to enhance their capabilities through a holistic curriculum as well as empower them to be independent in their daily life.

DISHA ABHIYAN– The goal of Disha is to build and disseminate an Assessment Checklist Tool & Uniform Curriculum in Special Schools to transform education for children with ID and provide training for the implementation of the curriculum. Both of which have been certified by the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disability (NIEPID).

In 2019, we partnered with the Department of Social Justice & Special Assistance - Commissionerate of PwD, Government of Maharashtra. Currently, we are in 36 districts of Maharashtra, impacting 453 special schools, over 2600 special educators and more than 18,000 children.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT Centre– Through our Vocational Training Centre, Sheltered Workshop & Respite Care sections, we provide job training, livelihood opportunities & training in activities of daily living for adults with ID to enable them to find gainful opportunities & lead an empowered life.
