NGO secures release of 11 Indian, 5 Pak youths facing death sentence

Sarbat Da Bhala Trust helped 11 Indians and five Pakistani nationals, facing death sentence for murder, from the noose and also brought them home safely after paying blood money to relatives of the deceased. While talking to newspersons on Thursday, founder of trust and philanthropist S P S Oberoi said that all Indian and Pakistani nationals were facing death sentence in a murder case for around three years.
He said that after their family members contacted them, he arranged for legal assistance and also talked to family members of the deceased to exonerate them against blood money of nearly 2.5 lakh Dirhams (around Rs 40 lakh). Oberoi said he donated 50% of the amount while rest of the money was arranged by the youths' relatives.
