Tamil Nadu election: NGO points out gender inequality on AIADMK candidates list

Of the 227 candidates announced by the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, only 31 or 14% are women, said a press release from Prajnya, an NGO working towards gender equality."There is no reason to believe other party lists will perform better on the criterion of gender parity. Gender equality is the social and political condition without which democracy is incomplete and imperfect," said the press release.
