The NGO Citizen Forum for Sanctity in Educational System plans to file a writ petition in the Bombay high court against principals of engineering colleges for allegedly submitting false data about their institutions to the directorate of technical education (DTE). The NGO has alleged that though these colleges received notices from DTE , no action was taken against them.

"We will file a petition against the principals who submitted false data to the DTE. After recent enquiries, we found out that 50-60% colleges in Maharashtra do not pay their staff members. We will file another petition to include the salary of teachers under AICTE's norms, which will ensure that teachers are paid in full according to law," said Rahul Ambekar of the forum. The NGO demanded an FIR be registered against principals for allegedly submitting fake information. They also demanded reduction in tuition fees in colleges that lack basic facilities.
